The Public Works Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the village’s roads. Its duties include the following:
- Curb Reconstruction
- Curb Repair
- Pothole Repair
- Street Sweeping
- Snow and Ice Removal
- Ground Maintenance Operations
- Sign Installation and Replacement
Street Operation and Maintenance is partially funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s Motor Fuel Tax Program. Tax funds are derived from a tax on the privilege of operating motor vehicles upon public highways and recreational watercraft on the waters of Illinois. Funds are collected based on the consumption of motor fuel.
