The location you choose must be zoned for the type of business you wish to operate. The Village Zoning Code defines several zoning districts, each with varying requirements for allowable businesses. You should consult the Zoning Code or contact Zoning Administrator Rich Mersinger for help determining whether or not your business is permitted.

The Village of Bethalto is a non-home rule community governed by a Village President and a Board of six Trustees elected at large. Bethalto was founded in 1834, incorporated in 1869 under a special charter and again in 1873 under the State of Illinois’ general law.
